Chester A. “Buzz” Wojecki Jr. 1979
The Bossier City Council elected Chester “Buzz” Wojecki as Acting Mayor on September 12th 1979 after he had served a week as Mayor Pro Tem by appointment of Mayor Anding, who was incapacitated by illness. “Mayor Buzz”, who had already been serving on the City Council for 2 years, including a stint as council President Pro Tem, was only 31 years old.
During his seven-week tenure as a transitional mayor, he appointed interim directors for the city-owned Bossier General Hospital during a rocky period in its history, helped to resolve serious problems at the Bossier Animal Control Center and presented the 1980 budget to the City Council. He completed his term in late October 1979 when Mayor Anding returned. He is an active alumnus of Bossier High School and Lousiana Tech University.
