Work is set to begin next week on infrastructure improvements as part of the Bossier City Downtown Re-envisioning Project. On Monday, May 2 Barksdale Boulevard will be reduced from 4 to 2 lanes of traffic from Traffic Street to Arcadia Street. The project's contractor, Boggs and Poole Contracting Group, Inc. is then scheduled to begin work Tuesday, May 3 installing a water line on the south side of Barksdale Boulevard.
The City of Bossier City hosted an informational meeting on the upcoming construction earlier this month for property owners along the effected portion of Barksdale Boulevard to keep them abreast of how the project will proceed.
This initial work will involve required infrastructure for the re-envisioning project including all water and sewer utilities, landscape, electrical and road work as required for the reconstruction of Barksdale Boulevard and other effected streets. The work will involve closures of Barksdale Boulevard in intervals during the next 14 months.
The Downtown Re-envisioning Project will utilize a mixture of existing and new buildings to create a new and exciting commercial, residential and entertainment centerpiece for Bossier City.
