Bossier City homicide suspect dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound

Rodney Drew Clim

Bossier City Police detectives have closed their investigation into Tuesday’s night’s shooting that killed a Bossier City woman.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to the Parkland Villa Apartment complex on Shed Road in reference to a shooting. A 43-year-old female was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head. She has been identified as Catrina Dupree of Bossier City. She was transported to Oschner LSU Health Shreveport where she was pronounced deceased.

Within minutes, detectives had identified the shooter as 48-year-old Rodney Drew Clim, the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

BCPD immediately began searching for Clim and located him driving in Bossier City. When a patrol officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Clim led officers on a pursuit that continued into Shreveport, through Greenwood, LA, and over the state line into east Texas.

Clim then pulled onto the side of I-20 and shot himself, ultimately taking his own life.

This shooting marks Bossier City’s sixth homicide of 2022.

The Bossier City Police Dept. would like to thank the Shreveport Police Dept., Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Greenwood Police Dept., and law enforcement in Harrison County, TX for their assistance in concluding the investigation.
