[ARCHIVED] National Night Out in Bossier City

BCPD5D21

Bossier City Mayor Lorenz “Lo” Walker along with police and firefighters visited with residents at National Night Out events across the city earlier this week in a united effort to prevent crime.

National Night Out is an annual nationwide crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and is designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships as well as send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Neighbors working together can make a tremendous difference when it comes to preventing criminal activity. Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams says, “Residents know what is normal for their neighborhood. An observant attitude and being aware of strange cars, persons, or circumstances and, in turn, reporting that activity to police, can help keep a community safe.”

Bossier residents should call 911 in an emergency situation if they observe criminal activity. To report suspicious activity, call the Bossier Police Department at 741-8611. Bossier Crime Stoppers can be reached at (318) 424-4100.
