The Louisiana Legislature held a special session from November 6, 2024 – November 22, 2024. Two Acts impacting local sales tax collections and reporting were signed by the Governor on December 4, 2024 and will both be effective for tax periods on or after January 1, 2025.

Duties & Responsibilities
As the central collector of sales & use tax for Bossier Parish it is the duty of this office to effectively and efficiently collect the various taxes for the jurisdictions we represent, to uniformly and fairly administer the tax laws of this state, parish, and city, to educate the taxpayers with regards to compliance with the various tax laws that change from year to year and to ensure compliance through a strong and effective audit program.
Effective January 4, 2023 the interest on unpaid taxes will increase to 11.75% annually, 0.9792% monthly.
