Mission


The mission of the Operations Division is to maintain a constant state of readiness to respond to all requests for services through training, maintenance of equipment, and a desire to serve our community.

Personnel & Services

The personnel assigned to the Operations Division are divided between 3 shifts (A, B, C) of 50 plus personnel per shift staffing engines, trucks and ambulances, that total also includes 1 shift commander (Assistant Chief), one EMS Supervisor, and 3 District Chiefs per shift. The emergency units respond from nine strategically located fire stations within the City 24 hours per day, each and every day.

Operations personnel work a 24-hour schedule, starting at 6 p.m. until 6 p.m. the next evening.

In addition to the large number of emergency responses, personnel assigned to Operations Division also conduct annual pre fire inspections of every business, public education demonstrations, hydrant maintenance, station maintenance and a minimum 2 hours of training daily.
